Lesson plans were designed by us and are specific in purpose;
Lesson Plan 1. targets children who have yet to learn the short phonic alphabet. Initially targeting younger children (Pre-K) we teach the phonic sounds in their entirety, but focus each weeks lesson on a specific sound.
We use hard copy and electronic imaging and although writing forms a small portion of the lesson; we stimulate learning through a number of interactive activities including: Listening skills, oral skills (To include singing), computer grammar games and live conversation.
Lesson Plan 2. targets children who now know the phonic alphabet and are ready for the next phase in learning English; 'Short Vowel Blending'.
Short vowel blending equips children with a basic understanding of the mechanics of 'reading' and includes an ability structured reading programme of books, and fully interactive e-learning software. There is also an opportunity to aquire 'home based access' to this material. Please ask your tutor for further information.

Lesson Plans 3 & 4. enter the more complex areas of English Grammar and cover the 24 Consonant Phoneme Graphemes, and the 20 Vowel Phoneme Graphemes (Long vowel sounds). These phonics are however, not learned in isolation, but in conjunction with grammar comprehension. We also introduce simple verbs and personal pronouns at this stage, to compliment a fuller understanding of sentence structure.
Creative writing will also be introduced, if this is within the capabilities of the student, (to be determined by the tutor). Students introduced to creative writing will utilise: listening skills, dictation, spelling, advanced phonics, comprehension, punctuation, verb tenses, adjectives, personal pronouns, creative thought and oral skills.
